New webmaster Ray Collett has access to site. The webmaster will give priority to updating this site over publication of a new issue of the Middlegame. Please be patient with the new webmaster who is faced with code generated by software he is not familiar with.

28 Jun 09 - Sean Hewitt steps down from role as MCCU webmaster. Ray Collett (Worcs) is appointed new webmaster at the MCCU AGM.

28/12/08 - The MCCU Grand Prix has been updated.

6/10/08 - The first two U125 match results have been posted.

8/9/08 - The FIDE Rated Leicester All Play All event was won by 12 year old Littlethorpe Chess Club player Brandon Clarke whose 186 grading performance in the event won him £125 and gained him 80 ELO points.

18/3/08 - ECF National Stage County Draw for 2008-9 Updated.

17/7/07 - MCCU British Championship Qualifying Places awarded to Leicester, Warwickshire and Nottingham congresses.  In addition, MCCU grand prix announced.

1/7/07 - Cyril Johnson   has been appointed as County Teams Controller for the forthcoming season and Bob Veitch   is the Correspondence Controller.  Details of the the competitions they will be controlling and how to enter will be circulated shortly.

25/6/07 - AGM.  The elected officers are now shown on the officers page.  The voting on motions was as follows

a) Ltd Co status.  The meeting decided not to proceed any further with converting to a company.

b) Voting rights.  The meeting decided not to confer voting rights to any body other than a county association.

c) County Match Rules.  The changes to rule 1 and rule 20 were passed.  The change to rule 3 (reduction in number of boards) was defeated.  The change to the U175 jamboree was defeated and it was left to the events director to decide the format of this years event (if any).

d) Correspondence Rules.  The changes proposed were agreed.

9/5/07 - The AGM will be held at Erdington Conservative Club on Sunday June 24th @ 2.30pm. The deadline for motions is 28days before the meeting.  Email motions to the CEO, Julie Johnson.

12/3/07 - Final open match played.  Greater Manchester are MCCU1 and Warwickshire are MCCU2.
