EJCOA National Youth Finals

9 Jul 2023. Owen Crawford (Derby) shared second place in the under-16 tournament. Denele Dicen (Coventry Chess Academy) was second equal in the under-14 tournament. The finals were held at Nottingham High School.

Solihull Junior Open results

Midlands schools in EPSCA under-11 semi-finals

19 Jun 2023. The event was won by Hallfield Primary School, Birmingham with 19½ point. Nottingham HS were third on 17points, and Old Vicarage School Darley Abbey, Derbys were sixth.

Jude Shearsby best junior in English Championships

1 Jun 2023. Jude scored 4½ points at the English Championships held at Kenilworth and was placed ahead of two grandmasters and two international masters.

Warwickshire in EPSCA county Under-11 finals

29 Apr 2023. Warwickshire scored 33½ points and were fifth in the county team finals held at Nottingham High School. Winners were Kent on 52 points.

Midland Under-9 county teams in finals

22 Apr 2023. Nottinghamshire finished tenth and Leicestershire finished eleventh behind winners Richmond.
