Lincolnshire win Midlands team championship for first time

21 Feb. Lincolnshire beat Worcestershire in the final headed by GM Matthew Turner to take the title for the first time in over a century of this competition. In the play-off for the third Minor Counties place in the national stages, Leics beat Greater Manchester.
24 Jan. Worcs, West Zone winners narrowly defeated East zone runners-up, Leics. Lins beat GMC to join Worcs in the final. According to Nigel Birtwistle's and Ray Collett's records, this is the first time these two counties have played together for the Midlands crown. Lincs last won the Midlands Minor Counties title in 1989, but has never won the championship whereas Worcestershire last won the championship in 1947!
Dec. Greater Manchester, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, and Worcestershire qualified for the semi-finals for the Midlands Counties' Team Championship.

Sep. Only one team entered the Open section, Staffordshire and they will be offered MCCU's nomination for the national stage of the ECF Counties' Team Tournament. However, Staffordshire will compete with counties that have entered the Minor Counties tournament for the MCCU county team championship.
